Joy Division - Love Will Tear Us Apart

Joy Divison, Love Will Tear Us Apart is one of my favourite tracks.
It features in the triple J hottest `100 of all time several times!
Real shame Ian Curtis ended his life so early, although they released another album post-humously with some incredible tracks on it. Who knows how bit Joy Division could have been if Ian Curtis hadn't passed away.

Jeff Buckley - Last Goodbye

Jeff Buckley is an absolute musical genius. unfortunately, like too many others; his life ended well before it needed to. He was aged 30 when he died.
His first album Grace, made it to the Rolling Stones top 500 albums of all time and his cover of Leonard Cohen's 'Hallelujah' was apart of the Hottest 500 songs.

Anberlin - Unwinding Cable Car

Anberlin were my first musical obsession. I've been to see them more times than any other band in the world and I even travelled interstate just to see them play.
I can not fault this song,

Death Cab For Cutie - I Will Possess Your Heart

How I never got into these guys years and years ago .. ill never know..
Im sure i had the 'Plans' album in my collection and I'm sure it remained unopened on my shelf for years until i came to my senses.
Brutally disappointed in myself.

Underoath - A Boy Brushed Red Living In Black and White

This song opened up a whole new world of music to me about 8 years ago.
I was listening to what ever was on the radio, until i head this song.
So thanks Underoath.

City and Colour - Save Your Scissors

Talk about musical genius; the fact he is in Alexisonfire singing, screaming and playing guitar and on the flipside singing such mellow meaningful music says it all.
Want to see more of him; check out the entire Bring Me Your Love Album, and you will be mesmerised.

Woodkid - Iron

So...... here we have Woodkid... this bloke can sing.

The song has be popularised as the song on the Assassin Creed ads
I think he is a genius, he works very closely with Lana Del Rey.

Lana Del Rey - Video Games

I dont know exactly what my attraction to this song is, I've only recently started to get into female artists, but Lana Del Rey is one of my favourites. What do you rekon ?
I'm certain that you will see some more on here from Lana Del Rey very soon.

Bat For Lashes - Daniel

Something for you guys, Daniel by Bat For Lashes, i haven't had too much of a look into much more of her music, but this one, i really like it. Soft, Meaningful and Sweet.
Natasha Khan is absolutely stunning, as you can see.

Fleet Foxes - Mykonos

Here is a solid one which i found once i started listening to the BBC's Radio 1 Live Lounge Cd's, there is some really great stuff on there which should be checked out.
Managed to go about two weeks wit hthis song on repeat, its really quite catchy.

My Chemical Romance - I'm Not Okay ( I Promise)

Okay, Yeah I'm happy to admit the soft spot i have for MCR; afterall, if not for them i could be a fan of something like Hip-Hop....
They were the first alternative band i ever listened to, their record, Three Cheers for Sweet Revenge was one of the first that i ever owned.
Good to see they're still making money even though they haven't released anything of any worth this 2006.

Placebo - The Bitter End

The Bitter End was the first Placebo track that i ever heard. I was hanging out with a mate and he started to learn the song on guitar. It won me over straight away and from there i was a Placebo fan for good.
seeing them live in concert was one of the highlights of my life.

Radiohead - There There

I'm quite sure if you are following this blog, you will see a bit of Radiohead's stuff pop up in the future.
It took me a little while to get into their stuff, but once i did, there is no going back.
This is not only a great song, but the film clip is very funky.

The White Stripes - Jolene

Jolene is a cover of a Dolly Parton first performed in 1974, decades before i was born. Her version made it to #217 on the Rolling Stone magazine's list of "the 500 Greatest Songs of All Time".
My opinion, Jack Whites performance of this song blows hers out of the water; sorry Dolly.
The way he sings with such emotion with every word that leaves his mouth makes it one of my favourites.

Mazzy Star - Fade Into You

This is one from 1993, Mazzy Star is formed of two musicians David Roback and Hope Sandoval.
I met a girl on a bus one day and she gave me this album in exchange for one i had in my backpack.
The song made the Billboard Hot 100 chart, peaking at #44. The song also charted at #48 on the UK Singles Chart.

Björk - Army of Me

Now for something different; Björk. I only really got into some of her stuff in the past 6 months after hearing this song.
Although I haven't heard much more then her Greatest Hits album, but this song is the one that really stuck with me after my minor obsession with her music.
I little known fact is that Björk released her first solo album in 1977 at age 12.

Augie March - One Crowded Hour

Augie March - One Crowded Hour is in my opinion on of the best songs to ever be produced by an Australian band.
The band went on Hiatus in 2009, so there is always that chance that they will reconcile and i will be able to see them play this one live.
The song received much critical acclaim and even took top spot on the Triple-J hottest 100 in 2006.

Copeland - Eat, Sleep, Repeat

Today is the first addition to my Infinite Playlist. I first i head of Copeland was when They opened for Anberlin & The Academy Is... In Adelaide, Australia, It was the first gig i ever went to and i was blown away by their whole set.
I thought it was an appropriate opener for the list. This is a really simple, low tempo song that I haven't heard in a long time, I uncovered it again last night, and reminded me of how talented Copeland are.
